What You Can Do 365 is a series that gives viewers the power to take small steps to solve big problems.  Each episode illuminates a pressing social issue – such as hunger, poverty and global warming - and then shows what viewers can do about it, even if they only have one minute of time to give.

The series premiered in 2009 with 21 episodes on PBS affiliate, WLIW21.  To follow-up this successful launch, the producers decided to dedicate 2010 to the series by airing an episode online each weekday for the entire year.  In that time, we’ve produced over 260 videos about some of the world’s most dire issues, we’ve worked with many of the country’s most respected nonprofits and have offered viewers countless one-minute ideas to help them make a difference in their community.

Series creator Jessica Arinella produces the show with her sister, Alicia Arinella.  The core team is rounded out by numerous hosts, guest bloggers and our trusted web designer, Noah Diamond.

This 2011 we are focusing on growing the What You Can Do community.  We want to hear from you.  The greater the number of people doing one-minute actions, the greater the impact we can have.  With the help of viewers, we’ve helped to donate nearly 500 mammograms to women in need through thebreastcancersite.com and we’ve saved almost 2,000 gallons of water in our toothbrush challenge.   We’d like to keep the one-minute movement going by producing more videos, shining the light on more incredible programs and growing our WYCD base.
